Why it exists
Made for the work, not the demo.
Carta Rinascente was drawn for Ariadne, the writing software from illegal studio, and published on its own. Regular and Bold are composed and upright. Italic and Bold Italic take a pen-like slant, with curved ascenders and tapered exits, while shared vertical metrics keep mixed styles on the same line spacing.
Each of the four styles encodes 340 characters, including Italian accents and typographic punctuation, and ships as TTF and WOFF2. The outlines are original pen paths generated from Python sources, inspired by Renaissance handwriting rather than traced from another font. The family is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and is intended for headings and short passages.
